Experimental investigation on thermal conductivity and stability of water-graphite nanofluid

Enhanced thermal conductivity of nanofluids has proven importance in enhancing heat transfer for many application. In this study, graphite nanopowder dispersed water at different temperatures was studied experimentally. Stable concentrations (0.2 vol%, 0.5 0.8 1 vol% and 1.5 vol%) are prepared using ultrasonic cleaner by sonicating 3 hour. Thermal measured from temperature 25 to 55 ºC with an interval 5 KD2 Pro properties analyser. Experimental results showed that increases increase volume concentration. Water – Graphite nanofluid enhancement 5.6% 20.42% 0.2 concentration respectively. However, the maximum improvement 39.72% found 1.5% compared water. A correlation developed considering effect regression method. The proposed effectively predicts accuracy ±2.8%.
